When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.
With much love spread and many memories shared, our beloved James accepted his angel's invitation into the kingdom on Wednesday. February 10, 2021 at Capital Health Regional Center in Trenton, New Jersey. As a result, our hearts are less bright but we know the heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter.
James L. Robinson Sr., born November 4, 1935 in Sylvester, Georgia to Gussie Robinson.
He was educated in the Sylvester public school system. James was employed at the Sheriffs Department for the city of Trenton. He was an Operating Engineer at Local 825, and he specialized in operating heavy equipment. He was also the co owner of a waste management company.
James attended church at Mount Nebo Primitive Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. In his leisure time, James enjoyed working on cars. His passion was baseball, especially watching the New York Yankees baseball team.
He was preceded in death by his mother Gussie Robinson; his step parents Jock and Hessie Jefferson; his wife Ethel P. Robinson; a sister Lillian; his two brothers Earnest and Willie; his cousins Haddie, Rosy and Josie.
James' memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his two sons James Jr. and Monti; his grandchildren RaiSien, Jovan and Jamel; a great grandchild Isaiah; his brother Eddie; god children Nona, Lashonda and Nehemiah; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other saddened family and friends.
Services will be 9-11am Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove B.C. Cemetery, Shingler, Ga.
