Heaven needed an Angel so Janiesha Mae Gregory was called home on March 5, 2025. Born on November 4, 1987, Janiesha known to many as “Bert“ was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. Her infectious smile, kind heart, and warm spirit brought joy to everyone around her.

She dedicated much of her life to helping others, particularly those with special needs. She currently worked at Greenwood House and Community Options. She has dedicated more than ten years caring for others. Her work was a true reflection of her caring nature and her unwavering desire to help those in need. Whether through her professional work or in her personal life, she always made time to lend a helping hand, offer a word of encouragement, or share a moment of laughter.

Bert’s greatest joy in life, however, was her sons. They were the center of her world. Her love for them was immeasurable, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Together, they created countless memories, filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

She also had a strong bond with her family and didn’t play about them. She was fiercely protective and loyal, and her love for her family was relentless. N-V-Us for life!

Known for her vibrant personality and sense of style, Bert loved getting dressed up, doing her makeup, and capturing every moment with selfies. She had a passion for life, loved to travel, and made every vacation an adventure. Whether she was out exploring new places or simply enjoying time with her loved ones, Bert radiated joy, confidence, and positivity. Her social media was a vibrant collection of her joyful moments, filled with pictures of her beaming smile and her unforgettable spirit.

Above all, Bert was a woman who loved deeply, cared fiercely, and had a heart that made everyone around her feel special. Her legacy of kindness, love, and generosity will live on in the countless lives she touched.

Janiesha “Bert” Gregory was predeceased by her father Joey Reed and her maternal grandparents Ellis Pete and Janie Gregory, paternal grandfather, Samuel Reed, Aunt Mae Gregory, and Step-father Brian Wharton.

Left to forever cherish her memory, her loving sons Jahcyi and J’Ceyon Johnson, her mother, Patricia Wharton, her sisters, Shan Carter (Quinci), Jai Rodriquez (Alex), Brianna Wharton, and Joelle Campbell Brother Imere Reed, nieces Kayla Carter, Victoria and Madison Thompson, nephews Shane and Cameron Carter, Alex and Ayden Rodriquez, Sister-Cousins, Shawnta, Sharee, Tanisha, and Dierra Gregory, Keya Smith, and Diamond Lowery. Brother-cousins, Dewayne and Dujuan Gregory, and Niam Williams. Paternal grandmother, Patsy Reed. Aunt Joann Gregory-Wallace (Jermaine) and Uncle Ellis Gregory, lifelong friend Jeffrey Johnson, childhood friends Ashley Smith, Shaude Ebanks, Savonne Clegg, and Toya Nelson, close friends Salina Sweat and Whitney Jackson, her Dog Chinx and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends that she loved dearly.

 

Funeral service will be 12pm Friday, March 21, 2025 at Change Church, 200 Ludlow Dr., Ewing NJ 08638.  Calling hour will be 11am until time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
