Jean D. Riley, 87, transitioned this life on April 14, 2024. She was born in Princeton NJ, on February 4, 1937 to the late Rosco (Chink) and Elizabeth Greene Douglas.
She was a woman who loved children. She was into a variety of sports, an avid bowler and loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. She could be seen jogging around the Community Park in Princeton with her body guard dog, Kojak. She enjoyed puzzles, crocheting and quiet times sitting in the sun room. She received various trophies, certificates and awards from the state, county and her beloved community. She was also an active part of many local committees.
Jean Riley, who grew up in Princeton, was a teacher at the Princeton Nursey School for 18 years, then served as the Executive Director for another 27 years. After retirement, the Princeton Nursery School honored her legacy by creating a scholarship in her name. She and her sisters Carol, Verna and Gerry were inseparable. They enjoyed bike riding to Hightstown, dancing, and bowling. And let’s not forget playing Pinochle (cards) for a nickel a hand.
She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Bosley (Edward Vernon), and son Robert Jr. (Nicole) Bosley, predeceased daughter Karima Bullock (Kenny); 15 grandchildren, one predeceased Eugene Robert Bullock; and numerous great grand-children, nieces, nephews, extended family, godchildren and friends.
She was a great matriarch, who cared deeply about her family and friends. She will always be missed. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, condolences, support and time
Funeral service will be 11am Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Shiloh Baptist Church,104 1/2 Elizabeth St, Bordentown, NJ 08505. Calling hours will be 9am until time of service. Intement will be at Bordentown Cemetery, Bordentown, NJ.
