Jessie James Lee

Jessie James Lee, 72, was born May 22 1951 in Bartow-Rural, Georgia. Jessie was called home August 29, 2023 in Ewing, New Jersey.

Jessie was predeceased by his parents Jonas Wells and Annie Mae Wells (Lee); brother Author "Bud" Sams; sisters Annie Louis Ross and Ethel Thomas.

Jessie is survived by his only child Chana Lee-Tift (Shawn Tift Sr); Granddaughters Crumniece Lee and Shawnna Ingraham [Naiquaon Ingraham}; Grandson Shawn Tift III; Great-Granddaughters Makenzy, Lula, Lizzie, Aniyah and Amiyah; Great-Grandsons Marcellus,Naiquaon Jr, Shawn IV, Nairoh, Kayne and Malachi; Sisters Mary Roberts, Rosetta Davis and Minnie Sams of New Jersey; Brother Robert Wells of Arizona; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces/Nephews.

Jessie attended Trenton Public Schools. He served in the United States Army. He worked at a Veteran Affairs Medical Center located in Arizona before retiring.Jessie enjoyed watching movies and spending time withhis family especially his daughter Chana. He was a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Yankees

Funeral service will be 12pm Monday, September 11, 2023 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 11am until the time of service. Interment will be at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
