Joe L. Green Obituary

"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure."   

Joe L. Green Jr, 6 62, of Trenton, Pennington. NJ, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025 at Capital Health of Hopewell in Born and raised in Trenton, Joe was deeply rooted in his community and made Brothers, where he worked for 30 years before retiring. the Job Corps program and went on to build a long and respected career with Tolo lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He received his education through 

Joe was known for his deep love of music, especially the soulful voices of Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, and other timeless artists. His passion for life showed in everything he did, from enjoying family gatherings to dancing at cabarets in his sharp suits. A true dresser from a young age, he cherished childhood shopping trips with his Uncle Moses and never lost his flair for fashion. 

Joe also loved football, both playing it in his youth and cheering for his favorite team, the Minnesota Vikings. He was a man of tradition and taste, especially t when it came to his sister's macaroni and cheese and her homemade butter cake, two of his favorite dishes. 
He was a strong male role model and a devoted family man, a great son, nephew, uncle, brother, husband, and father. 

Joe leaves behind his beloved wife, Leanelda Green; daughter Tanesha Boyd; sons Dontae Green, Roy Johnson, Tarence Ferrell, and Markis Ferrell; his mother Verid Green; siblings Paula Allen, Priscilla Conn, and Jeffrey Green (Shara); broth- er-in-law, Neal Ferrell (Karen); mother-in-law, Lucinda along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him deeply. 

Joe was predeceased by his father, Joe Green Sr., whose memory he honored throughout his life. 
Joe's presence, humor, style, and strength will live on in the memories of all who had the honor of knowing him. His ability to light up a room with his laughter, his effortless charm, and his unwavering support for those he loved made him unforgettable. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit, lessons, and love wilt continue to guide and inspire us every day. 
 
 

 

Funeral service will be 11am Friday, October 24, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of services. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
