John Harrell Obituary

When someone you love becomes a memory, the t memory becomes a treasure.

John transitioned from life to eternity on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell, New Jersey. As a result, our hearts are less bright, but we know the heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter.

John Tony Harrell, born June 9, 1937 in North Carolina (North Hampton County) to William J. Harrell and Rosella Williams.

He was educated in the North Hampton County school system. Aller relocating to New
Jersey, John was employed with Trane where he also retired from.

In his leisure time, John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also liked to travel as often as he could. John enjoyed sports, he especially was passionate about football. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.

He was predeceased by his father William J. Harrell; mother Rosella Williams; his five brothers Willie Harrell, Leven Harrell, McCoy Harrell, Cleveland Harrell and James Edward Harrell; three sisters Ora Faison, Rosa Mae Grant and Josephine Harrell-Bundick; his son Daniel Lee; two stepchildren Kesha Mickens and D'Anthony Mickens.

John's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his two daughters Dorin Belton-West of Columbia, SC and Patricia Harrell-Moore of' Charlotte, NC; a son Robert (Janet S.) Lee Roanoke Rapids, NC; a stepdaughter Dannielle Mickens of Trenton, NJ; ten grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren of North Carolina; 5 step grandchildren Breon Mickens, Dierra Gregory, Ta'ron Highsmith, Keyarra Mungro and [avian McKnight all of Trenton, NJ; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me
I took his hand when heard his call, I turned my back and left it all

I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work, to play
Tasks left undone must stay that way, I've found the peace at the close of the day

If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy .

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah yes, these things I too will miss

Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow

My life's been full, I've savored much, good friends, good limes, a loved one's touch

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief. don't lengthen it now with undue grief

Liift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.
