Johnnie F. Miller, Sr was born January 21,1944 to the late Edith and Frank Miller. His name was called on August 23, 2025, and he answered, closing this chapter of life surrounded by family and leaving behind a legacy of love.
Born in Hawkinsville, Georgia, John or "Brother," as he was affectionally known, was a resident of Ewing, New Jersey. He was educated in the Trenton Public School system, graduating from Trenton Central High School. He retired after 37 years of service from US Steel in January 2002. He worked briefly at Sam's Club after retirement. He loved being outside washing cars daily-he had the cleanest cars on the block. John also loved to shop for clothes and bargains. He dressed to "IMPRESS". He was also a loving husband, father, POP-POP and a "Mr. Fix It!" Our Dad was a provider, protector, a man' of integrity, demanded respect and also gave it. He was grateful and very appreciative of anything you did for him; even though he did not like asking for help, even when needed.
John accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age. He was baptized and attended Union Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Tibbs. He was later reinstated and served under Pastor Simeon Spencer.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Corlette B. Miller; two sisters: Bernice Cox of Ewing, NJ and Christine Tate of Omaha, NE.
John's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his children: Cynthia Miller of Ewing, New Jersey, Johnnie (Archel) Miller Jr. of Swedesboro, NJ and a nephew, who he raised as a son, Kendall (Yvonne) Dean of Tampa, FL; four grandchildren: Shante, Aaron, Arquel and Johnathon Miller; three great grandchildren: Kyrie and Kairo Miller and Skylar Graves; his baby sister: Juanita Miller; brothers-in-laws: James
(Edith) Dean of North Carolina, Darryl Dean of Georgia, Lawrence Dean of New Jersey, Marcus, Marvin, Anthony (Jayne) Dean all of Pennsylvania, Steven Hyman of Pennsylvania, Curt Fleming of New Jersey; sisters-in-laws: Jeanette Dean, Renee Dean of New Jersey, Angela Glanton of Pennsylvania; god daughters: Nacone Martin and Kim Mathis; caregiver: Cynthia Stacey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 11am Friday, August 29, 2025 at Union Baptist Church, Pennington Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
