Joseph H. Collier, Jr.

Joseph H. Collier, Jr., born 11/27/62, was born in Trento-n, New Jersey. He and hfs' beloved mother, Gloria Lewis, settled into the Old Rose Street community, where everyone looked after each other's children; it was a.village. Joseph established lifelong relationships while his dear mother worked long hours as a nurse at Saint Francis Medical Center. The neighbors lovingly looked after him.

Joseph, affectionately known as Joey, grew up and had many interests. He was on the swim team at Trenton Central High School and became a certified lifeguard for the city of Trenton. After 
graduation, Joseph enrolled in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged. Joe loved music and was a DJ for many years, and he also loved to travel. Joe was intentional and passionate about all that he did. He was a New Jersey State Corrections Officer and remained in that position for 25 years. He became a certified security guard, and most recently, guarded the renowned Weedman Shop and was a counselor at MLK Elernentary School.

Joe is preceded by his dear father, Joseph H Collier, Sr., and his beloved stepfather, Thurman Lewis. He left this earth, leaving behind his dear rpother, Gloria, his precious son, Yusef H. Collier, whom he shared with Celeste Collier, Sister Donna (Keith), stepbrother Chris, step"sister Carolyn, stepmother Mary, and brothers Greg (Ellen) and Bill (Gina) .Joe had many family members who loved and cared for him, including his aunts Barbara (Ernest), Carol, Mary (Fred), Uncle Clarence, Uncles in heaven, John, and Stuart, and a host of loving relatives. Joe also had many longtime friends who,n he loved, including Dwayne, Frankie, and Brian.His mother, Gloria, and son, Yusef, meant the world to him. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

 Funeral service will be 1pm Friday, June 20, 2025 at Union Baptist Church, Pennington Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 11am until the time of service. Interment will be private.
