Joseph Knight Obituary

With much love spread and many memories shared, our beloved Joseph accepted his angel's invitation into the kingdom on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at his home in Trenton, New Jersey. As a result, our hearts are less bright but we know the heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter. 
 
Joseph Cephas Knight Jr. was born September 22, 1958 in Trenton, New Jersey to Joseph c. Knight Sr. and Nancy Leonard-Knight. 
 
He was educated in the Trenton public school system. He furthered his education while attending Mercer County Community College. He joined the military and he served two years in the United States Army. Joe was employed as a Corrections Of­ficer in Jamesburg. He was also employed-in Maintenance at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, where he retired. Joe also worked for Ocean Spray in Cranbury, New Jersey. 
 
Joe was an active member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, where he volunteered with WiIling Workers of Jerusalem. In his leisure time, Joe was an avid gardener; he en­joyed tending to his plants and bushes. 
 
He was preceded in death by his father Joseph c. Knight Sr.; his mother Nancy Leonard-Knight. 
 
Joseph's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his stepmother Eloise Knight; his wife Alexis Bryant Knight; three brothers Alex, Larry and Dorsee (Kimberly); two daughters Charel and Cierra; two granddaughters Cenasia and Kelsey (on the way); two grandsons Kameron and Kashton; his special friends Lynn Allen, Anthony Hasker, Ronnie Molder and Tracie Daves; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

  Services will be 10 – 11am Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave, Trenton, NJ, 08618.  Interment will be private.
