Juanita Garcia Waldron Obituary

Juanita Garcia Waldron, a devoted wife, mother, Nana, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, at the age of 74. Born in Raymondville, Texas, to Aurora Garcia, she was later lovingly adopted by her grandparents, Lucinda and Bentura Garcia. Juanita dedicated her life to her family, always prioritizing their needs.

Known to many as Janie, she found her greatest joy in serving others and bringing smiles to their faces. Indeed, Janie's life was a testament to selfless service. For over two decades, she poured her heart into the Pennington, New Jersey community working in the deli and catering departments of Pennington Quality Market and later as a kitchen server at The Pennington School. Her caring, thoughtful, and generous heart consistently shone, always focused on placing the needs of others before her own.

Affectionately nicknamed "Stormy," she cherished summer days spent by the pool or at the beach, basking in the sun. She also enjoyed spending time with her husband, Nathaniel ("Bottles”) playing penny slots at the Atlantic City casinos and chatting with her sister, Gloria, who resides in Texas, via FaceTime. Stormy was an avid sports fan, delighting in Trenton Thunder games with Nathaniel, cheering on her Philadelphia 76ers and Phillies, and passionately supporting the Dallas Cowboys. The NFL football season was a highlight for the entire family, during which Stormy would enthusiastically celebrate her Cowboys' victories, though she might remain silent after their losses.

Juanita is survived by her husband of 53 years, Nathaniel J. Waldron; her children, Nathaniel B. (Haley) Waldron, Lorena (Jose) Garcia, Natashia Waldron, and Lanette (Neale) Myers; her grandchildren, Marc Harris Jr., Kiana Brooks, Kyle DePaz, Ayanna DeMaio, Leila DeMaio, Nicholas DePaz, Jaelynn Myers, Quentin Myers, and Jordyn Myers; her great-granddaughters, Karleigh Waldron and Amelia Jane DeMaio; her sisters, Gloria (George) Page and Kristina (Armando) Barrera; her nieces and nephews, Vickie (Billy) England, Craig (Libby) Page, and Valarie (Chuck) Fogle; and a host of other loving family and friends.

A celebration of life honoring Janie, known for her sunny disposition and love of all things bright, will be held at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 735 E. State Street, Trenton, New Jersey, on April 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The family invites all to wear a touch of yellow in honor of Stormy.
