Larry Bryant Obituary

Claude Larry Bryant was born on April 30, 1951, in Goulds, Florida, to Claudia Mae Bryant. He is the youngest of six boys, three of whom preceded him in death. Also, he is the big brother to one sister.

Mother Claudia relocated to Trenton, New Jersey in the Fall, 1959. It is there where Larry attended Trenton Public Schools. After graduating Trenton High School, Larry attended Howard University for a brief period. Later, he returned to Trenton to be employed by a number of companies, among them, Fairless Steel. Larry was the proprietor of Larry's Taxis for several years. He then relocated to New York with his brother, Willie and had a variety of jobs there for close to thirty years. During that time, he learned the game of golf and was an avid player. Always active, he earned the respect of all by his knowledge of sports, gleamed from watching his brothers, as they competed and subsequently, playing himself during his teen years. His favorite professional football teams were the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Jets!!

Larry also served his Country in the Army National Guard, as a Cannon Crewman (Gunner), attaining the rank, Sergeant. He earned an Honorable Discharge.

Larry was preceded in death by his Mother, Claudia M. Bryant; also, brothers, Ret. Major General Alvin Bryant, MD, Dr. Willie Lee Bryant and Henry Louis Bryant.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Siblings - Colonel (Ret) Wilbert Bryant (Emily), Sylvester Bobby Bryant (Robin) and Brenda Lee Bryant, Dr. Ann Ashley-Biry (Pierre), Dr. Sharon Keith (Dan), Wanda Ashley-Young Vimmie). Nieces & Nephews - Anita Bryant, Beverly Goodwin, V. Renee Teel (Howard), Wilbert Bryant, Jr., Alvina Procter (Mark), Patrice Scott (Dwayne), Thalaya Mathis (Marcus), Alvin Bryant (Christine), Amy Bryant-Bryan (Andre), Wendell Bryant, Krystle Bryan and Lori Bryant. Also, Sister-in-law, Goldie Bryant and a host of other Cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.

 

Funeral service will be 11am Friday, April 19, 2024 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be private.
