LaTanaya Burgess was born in Trenton, 1970, on March 20, to Mrs. Leona Burgess and the late Jessie D. Stills. She departed this life Saturday, September 5, 2020, at home with her loving family. She worked at Cantu Service, Army Base - Fort Dix, New Jersey.
When LaTanaya, a.k.a “Latty” was a little girl; she lived on Walnut Avenue in the Wilbur section of Trenton in which she attended Elementary and High Schools. As a child, she enjoyed hopscotch, jump rope (double-dutch), and jacks with neighborhood friends. In the Burgess family household were four, with many memories. Other than LaTanaya, there were Debra, Lawrence, and Lamone. Each child had their moment of experiences getting into trouble. The two oldest, Debra and Lawrence, knew first at hand what would come forth on their backside if they were disobedient. But, LaTanaya wasn’t afraid of testing the waters. She did what she wanted and faced the consequences later, even if that means including her little brother and partner in crime, Lamone. Although she got along with all her siblings, LaTanaya would listen to Lamone the most, he was her favorite.
LaTanaya loved kids; some of her happiest memories were being an Aunt to her lovely nieces and nephews. She wore many caps, a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and finally, she was blessed to be a mother to her most beloved daughter, her BFF LaTrail. Years later, the ultimate happen; she became a grandmother of four precious grandchildren.
