Laverne Davis Obituary

Laverne Delores Davis daughter of the late Howard L. and Evincie L. Davis was born October 18,1960. She departed this life peacefully at home on July 28, 2020.

A lifelong resident of Trenton, NJ, Laverne was educated in the Trenton Public School System. Laverne worked for Hamilton Continuing Care Rehabilitation as the Food Service Supervisor for several years. She grew up in Emmanuel Pentecostal Temple and was avid about being kind to people in life.

Laverne loved her family and had a heart of gold! Her favorite pastimes were cooking, spending time with her family, singing and dancing ... she especially loved doing her favorite dance called "The Clicker". - Laverne would open her home and give what she had to people in need rarely turning anyone away, her laugh and smile was
infectious, and she was the life of any gathering. Laverne was never a "homebody" and loved to travel when she could, she even lived in Salt
Lake City, Florida for seven years. Laverne had many titles: friend, cousin, aunt, but her most cherished titles were sister mother, and grandmother.

Laverne was predeceased by her parents, Howard L. and Evincie L. Davis; one son, Kayvon James Davis; her grandparents: Sam and Zonnie L. Blanche,John and Elder Cora L. Beasley; great aunt, Elder Eva Mae Thomas; two aunts, Katherine Kelly and Mary Nunn; two sisters, Cora L. Williams and Zonnie L. McClees; one niece, DeShawn S. Ramsey-Powell; and one brother-in-law, Royce Ramsey.

Laverne leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Ronisha Z. Davis; seven grandchildren, Ranic, ja-Mil, Octavia, Ronnie, Ramee, Nehemiah, and Rayilen Davis; her siblings, Howard L. Davis, Jr., James (Deneen) Franklin Davis, Delinda T. Ramsey, Regina (Kenny) Little, and Evincie (Tank) Davis-Minus; one aunt, Betty Keaton; one brother-in-law, Robert McClees; three sisters-in-love, Doriann Kelly, Sylvia Howard, and Vonnie Lloyd; her lifelong partner, Mr. Clyde Funchess; one very special friend, Sylvia "Tippy" Hood-Gilcrest; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Laverne was loved by all who knew her, but God loved her best!!!
