Obituary


Sunrise March 3, 1943        and           Sunset September 25, 2022


Leodra Holmes (also known as “Pee Wee”) was born on March 3, 1943 in Florida. She attended school in the Florida educational system. Leodra relocated to New Jersey and obtained her degree at Mercer County Community College. Leodra was employed at the Trenton Board of Education.

 

After relocating to New Jersey, Leodra became a member of Jesus My Light Holy Temple under the late founder Elder Sterling Harris Sr. (Pastor). She was the Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher, Pastor’s Aid President and Leader of the Youth department.

 

In 1999, Leodra followed the leadership of her Godson Apostle David C. Thomas as a member of the Word Alive Center (formerly Word to the World Ministries) where she served faithfully.

 

Ms. PeeWee loved her Klagg Avenue family and also dedicating her time to many church and community activities. She organized and taught the Klagg Avenue Bible Study for all who wanted to attend.

 

Leodra Holmes is predeceased by her parents Albert and Annie Lee Jackson; brothers Albert and James Jackson, sister Shirley Mitchell; her sister-in-law Ruby Howard, and her Godchildren Apostle David C. Thomas Sr and Alexander Howard.

 

She leaves to continue her legacy, her children Levi Holmes, Gwendolyn Spann (Gregory Spann), Rosalyn Williams, Tracy Holmes, special daughter and son Sheila Phillips (Melvin Phillips); Godchildren Dorothy Perry, Daquan Picott, and Pastor Stephanie R. Thomas, one brother Willard Jackson Sr. (Josie Jackson), and two sisters Patricia Solomon (Paul Solomon), Sharon S. Lucas (Dale Lucas); her devoted grandchildren Shawn Hale, Tonisha Holmes, Levi Holmes, Cassandra Cannon, Ashleye Williams, Brittney Griffin, Latisha Valladares (Waldir Valladares), and Adrienne Williams and her great grandchildren Jamere Branch, Nyzirra Carter, Karon Latimore, Karin Latimore, Dru Grubbs, Lilia Valladares, Lauren Valladares, and a host of other loving family members.

 

The public viewing for Leodra Holmes will be Monday October 3, 2022, from 10 am-12pm at Word Alive Center, 29 West Front Street, Trenton, NJ 08608. The funeral service will immediately follow the public viewing at 12 pm.

 

The interment will be at Colonial Memorial Park 3039 S. Broad Street Hamilton, NJ 08610.

 

The repast will be held at Calvary Christian Fellowship Ministries 611 Parkway Avenue Ewing, NJ 08618.

Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
