Leroy Barnes

Leroy Barnes, age 83, passed away September 28, 2020 at St. Francis Medical Center in. Trenton, NJ. Leroy affectionately known as "Big Daddy Boom Boom" by family and friends, and "Pop Pop" by grandchildren and caretakers, was born on September 30, 1936 to the late Jerry and Esther Barnes in Irwin County, GA. He was a current longtime resident of Trenton, NJ. He was educated in the Trenton Public School System and graduated from Trenton Central High School. 

 

Leroy was employed as a machine operator for Stokes Molded Company until he retired after over 20 years of service. Leroy loved to cook, play cards, and watch college football. 

 

In addition to his parents, Leroy was predeceased by one daughter, Barbara Thompson; and one granddaughter, Sonya Mahan. 

 

He leaves behind to cherish his memories: one brother, Willie Barnes; six children, Donna Clark (James), Leroy Michael Barnes (Rhonda), Beverly Barnes, Robert Barnes, Sr. (Barbara), Patrick Barnes, Sr., and David Barnes; 22 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Nancy Brown; his special friends, Ms. Brown, Ms. Juanita, Ms. Edith, Ms. Cora and Kenny; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
