Leroy Jenks

Leroy Jenks Jr. was born in Glennville Ga., on October 14, 1944 to the late Leroy & Margaret Jenks.

He resided in Trenton/Ewing New Jersey, for many years until he departed this life, on Tuesday January 17, 2023 at the age of 78.

Leroy was a graduate of Tattnall Industrial High School. He retired from Mercer County Community College, after 44yrs. of dedicated service.

Leroy was also employed with Hahnemann Electric, Trenton Psychiatric Hospital, Trenton Window cleaning, and Mercer Hospital.

He enjoyed gardening and carpentry work around the house.

Leroy loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

He also loved traveling to his hometown accompanied by his grandchildren.

He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and he loved the Golden State Warriors basketball team.

He passed time working on his vehicles, and made sure he showed his daughters the basics, to take care of their own.

Leroy was preceded in death, by his loving wife, Ruth Ann Jenks of 47 years, parents Leroy and Margaret Jenks, his sister Margorie Tyler, and grandson Chron Jenks.

Leroy’s memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his loving daughters Tangela Jenks-Smith (Mark), Lashawn Rice (Steven), Kokeshia Gordon (Abdel), stepson Thomas Berry, Goddaughters Karen Dorsey and Sheena Phelps. Grandchildren Thomas L. Berry Jr., Charles A. Phelps Jr., Jihad Jenks, Dionna Berry, Nya Jenks, Karlee Richardson, Zaria Rice, And Zayla Gordon. Great-grandchildren Yahzir Barnes and Aayan Thomas all of New Jersey. Two sisters Dewie Ann Weaver and Bonnie Jean Butler (Lint). Two brothers Roger Jenks (Patricia) and Alfred Jenks (Pamela) and a host of other relatives and friends

Funeral service will be 12pm Saturday, January 28, 2022 at Wayne Ave. Baptist Church, 30 Wayne Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be at Greater Zachariah Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, GA.  Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
