Linda R. McKoy was born on June 27, 1949 in Princeton, New Jersey to the late Carl L. and Rosie S. Gamble.
Linda resided in Trenton, New Jersey most of her life. She was educated in the Princeton School System. She retired from the State of New Jersey Motor Vehicles Commission after over 30 years of dedicated service.
Linda gave her life to the Lord over 30 years ago under the leadership of the late Bishop Leroy York at House of Prayer of Church of Church of Lord Jesus. She continued to serve the Lord at Lord Jesus Love Temple under the leadership of the late Dr. Nancy Spearman and current leadership, Pastor Kilpatrick Mitchell. She was a current member of House of Refuge for All People under the leadership of Pastor Hardy Hodges, III.
Linda was a faithful member in the Lord. During her Christian journey, she served on the Usher Board, Gospel Choir, Sunday School, Bible Study Teacher, Deaconess, and most recently Elder of the church.
Linda was a loving, kindhearted person who loved to provide words of wisdom. She loved to travel with family and friends. Linda also enjoyed going to the movies and watching old classic movies.
In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her husband, James H. McKoy, Sr.; one son, Lamont McKoy; and three siblings,Carl L. Gamble,Jr., Ernestine Robison and Paul Robeson.
She is survived by four daughters, Sandra McKoy (Jeff) of Trenton, NJ, Evette Hodges (Pastor Hardy, III) of Hamilton, NJ, Nicole Ogunyemi (Ade) of Lawrence, NJ, and Cynthia McKoy of Ohio; one son, James H. McKoy, Jr. of New York; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two Goddaughters, Angela Mitchell and Ciara Roach; her special friends, Judy and Hardy Hodges, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 10am Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Lord Jesus Love Temple, 68 Vine St, Trenton, NJ 08638. Calling hours will be 8am until the time of service. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
