Lister Steve Harris

Lister "Steve" Harris when home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in Bristol, PA. Steve was brought into this world on June 9, 1950, in Tuskegee, AL to the late Carrie B. Cariller and James Harris by The Smithson­ian Institute honored midwife, Ms. Elvira Barrow-Martin. 

In 1953, along with his family Steve moved to Trevose, PA, and sometime later the family moved to Bristol, PA. Steve was educated in the Bristol Township School system, he eventually joined the U.S. Army in 1969 and was assigned to the so" Infantry in Fort Richardson, Alaska. After his military stint, he became the manager of Marshalls Patio Lounge in Bristol, PA. He later worked at several other companies including the Tyson Corporation. 

Steve was baptized in 1953 by the late Rev. Bessie Wheeler of the Linconia Tabernacle Church of Trevose, PA shortly after his arrival from Tuskegee, AL. He later became a member of Community Baptist Church. 

Steve was well known within the community. However, he could not stay in one place too long. He lived in Bristol, PA, Levittown, PA, Tuskegee, AL, Evans­ton, IL, Madisonville, KY, Trenton, NJ, Miami, FL, Atlanta, GA, Columbus, GA, and spent some time in North Carolina. 

He was proceeded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy Jean Harris. 

He leaves to mourn his wife, Sandra Harris; sons, Lister Steve Austin (Amy), and Patrick Watts; daughters, Andrea Randolph, Toya Walker, Ebone Parker and Noel Mosley (Cordia); stepson Demar Parker; grandchildren, Koshion, Jazire, Jaedn, Calen, Marlon, Deja (Jacob), Justin, Xavier, Janya, Patrick Jr, and Dayanna; great-grandchildren, Marzette, Osiris, Peyton, Khari, and Kai; sisters, Louise Sulu and Doll Harris-Hargrove; close friend Rufus Johnson; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other family and friends . 


Funeral service will be 12pm Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Community Baptist Church, 225 Radcliffe St, Bristol, PA 19007.  Calling hours will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be at Washington Crossing National Park Cemetery, Newtown, PA.  Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
