Lois Gleaton beloved wife, mother grandmother sister and friend to many, accepted her angel's invitation into the Kingdom on Thursday, November 27, 2025 with beloved family at Capital Health at Fuld in Trenton, New Jersey at the age of 78.
Lois, was born on March 30, 1947, in Trenton, NJ to Lewis Montgomery and Doris Boone-Kelley. Lois attended Trenton Public School systems where she graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1966. Lois began her career working at Capital Health Medical Center where she was a Nurse Aide and retired after working there for 38 years.
Lois was a faithful and devoted member of Wayne Avenue Baptist Church under the leadership of Revered Russell Fox Sr. for many years. She was a faithful member of the choir ministry and generously volunteered her time serving in the kitchen ministry.
Lois, was a very friendly person, and loved by so many people. She had a passion for shopping, going out to eat, traveling, and watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. She enjoyed decorating her home for her favorite holidays Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Lois loved her family beyond measures and had a heart for gospel music. God was ever-present in her home, and it showed every day. Lois surrounded herself with reminders of His presence, keeping a variety of flash cards with key quotes and scriptures posted throughout the house. Anything inspirational or uplifting found a place in her home- positive affirmations, encouraging words, and expressions of love. The photographs she kept close further reflected her deep devotion to her family and her faith.
Lois was preceded by her parents, Lewis Montgomery and Doris Boone-Kelley; one son Blair Montgomery; two brothers, Anderson Hamilton and Perry Hamilton; and a grandson, Coleek Gleaton.
Lois's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by her loving husband Isaac Gleaton of 45 years; her children Nicole Montgomery, Kevin Montgomery, Isaac Gleaton Jr., Sabrina Beach (John); two sisters, Gloria Hamilton, and Pamela Harrington (George); two brothers, Leon Kelly (Mary), and James Kelly (Shirley); three sisters-in-law, Barbara Hamilton, Rose Day, and Mary Drakes; one daughter-in-law, Maria Montgomery; two uncles, Chester Boone and Ronald Boone; seven grandchildren, Brittany Montgomery, Daquan Angus, Christian McRae-Montgomery, Chase Montgomery, Quadera Gleaton, Alijah Gleaton, and Julius Beach; five great grandchildren, two special friends Phrizell Gibson and Esther Boykins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family.
Funeral service will be 11am Friday, December 12, 2025 at Wayne Ave. Baptist Church, 30 Wayne Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
