Obituary of Lula M. Maddox After over her 102 years of bringing laughter and joy to family and friends, Lula was called to join our Lord on April 26, 2021. She believed in God whom she served every day of her life. She was born on January 15, 1919 in Edgecombe NC, to Herbert and Eliza (Hinton) Johnson. Lula was educated in the public schools in Richmond Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Andrew A. Maddox and parents, siblings Edward “Buster”, Herbert Jr., Leona, and John. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Aundrie L. Botts and her husband John of Palm Coast FL; granddaughter Francine E. (Wormley) Williams and husband Eric of Manalapan, NJ; grandson Wallace Wormley and his partner Victoria Sallee of Bryn Mawr, PA; grandson Taylor Botts of Orlando, FL; two great-grandchildren Andrew and Erica Williams; nephew and Godson Winston Maddox, niece Bonita Maddox; nephew James Maddox; and special friend Renee McKitchen.
She was mother and Grandmother to many.
Lula was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church for over 60 years; Ladies’ Guild for over 40 years; Nu Trens Club; Daughter of Isis, Eastern Star; Golden Circle and many other social and community organizations.
