Obituary Marie Richardson of Trenton, New Jersey was born on July 20, 1943, in Raleigh, North Carolina to Pattie Lucille Richardson and James Richardson. Marie was peacefully called home on January 9, 2022.

Marie retired as a Stock Clerk for Walmart in Hamilton, New Jersey after working there for many years. Prior to working at Walmart, Marie worked for the Trenton Times for several years. Marie enjoyed watching soap operas and movies, listening to oldies and visits from her children, grandchild, great-grandchildren, family members and friends.

Marie leaves behind Henry Smith of Trenton, NJ, her companion for over 56 years. Marie is survived by 6 children: Marquittie Richardson of Trenton, NJ, Cassandra (Michael) Edwards of Trenton, NJ, Andrea (Winston) Jackson of West Orange, NJ, Henry (Reiko) Irby of Beaverton, OR, Dian Smith of Trenton, NJ and Johnathan E. (Aleathea) Smith of Trenton, NJ.

Marie leaves behind 9 grandchildren: Terrell (Jamillah) Irby, of Trenton, NJ, Steven (Shayon) McKoy of Willingboro, NJ, Antoinette Johnson of Trenton, NJ, Aliyah (Joseph) DeReus of Copperas Cove, TX, Kalil Irby of Beaverton, OR, Alterick (Anthony) Williams of Tampa, FL, Johsaan Smith of Trenton, NJ, Jonathan E. Smith II of Trenton, NJ, Shamar (Miashia) Smith of Trenton, NJ.

Marie leaves behind 10 great grandchildren: Kyler Irby of Trenton, NJ, Gia Irby of Trenton, NJ, Malik McKoy of Willingboro, Makhi McKoy of Willingboro, Mazhi McKoy of Willingboro, Kailen Jones of Trenton, NJ, Shamya Smith of Trenton, NJ, Shamir Smith of Trenton, NJ, Shakir Smith of Trenton, NJ, Shanya Smith of Trenton, NJ and extended family of Trenton, NJ. 

Marie is predeceased by her brother Lewis Richardson, and she is survived by 3 sisters: Lucille Williams of Trenton, New Jersey, Rosa Matthews of Los Angeles, California and Madgalene Richardson of Trenton New Jersey. Marie leaves behind, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Funeral service will be 10am Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be private.
