Marquis Skillman

Marquis Lee Skillman, departed this life on April 19, 2025 at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, NJ.

Marquis was born in Trenton, NJ on April 23, 1986 to Mary Jones and the late Alton Jones, Sr. he was educated in the Trenton and Ewing Township school district. He was previously employed at 
McDonalds as a Cashier, and lastly at TRANE- Residential Systems as a Lineman.Marquis was very athletic and was gifted in running track, playing tennis, and becoming a brown belt in karate in his younger years. He was a lover of hats of all types and loved to smile. He always stayed on top of his fashion and dressed well from head to toe. Family was important to him, and he would do anything for them. At this point in his life he was determined more than ever to reach every goal on his vision board. At the top of that list was rebuilding his relationship with his son Marsir. He had his mind set on becoming a better man for himself and his son. Although those goals he set were noi fulfilled, may the quiet spirit of Marquis remain in the hearts of all 
who knew and loved him dearly.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Robert & Marie Brooks; paternal grandparents, Lorenzo and Bet!}' Jones; three uncles, Charles, Bobby, and Junie; and three aunts, Carol, Sharon, and Dee.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Mary Jones; his son, Marsir; his siblings, Leroy, Larhonda, Maurice whom is his twin, Alton, Ashley, and Amber; three special friends, Asia, Alex,
Jay, Stydo and Ed Black; and a host of other relatives and friends

Funeral service will be 10am Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Greater Mt. Zion AME. Church, 42 Pennington Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Colonial Memorial Park, Hamilton, NJ.
