Mary E. McCollum Obituary

The family of Mary Evelyn Mccollum is deeply saddened to announce her pass-ing at her home on April 7, 2026. Born on September 9th, 1956, in Ewing, New Jersey, Mary was the middle child (5th) of 12 children. Mary lived a life dedicated to God as a member of The Holy Temple Church of the Lord Jesus Christ (Bronx, N.Y.) and persistently found creative ways to provide for her family raising 7 children of her own.

Mary was educated in the Ewing Public School System and graduated from Ewing High School. An excellent cook and baker like her mother Francis, she spent time working in catering for Merrill Lynch near Princeton, New Jersey crafting beautiful edible art. She then spent decades driving buses for local primary and secondary schools at Stout's in Trenton, New Jersey. The making of the best pies and delicious cakes still continued, especially during special family occasions!

While she enjoyed family time, a good laugh, interior decorating/sewing, walk-ing, one of her talents was meticulously tending to her beautiful garden all sea-sons of the year, arranging vibrant flowers, rose bushes, and other plants with complementing decor displayed in the front yard and along the sides of her dream home on Atterbury. Couponing was another natural talent. And Mary had little problem planning and making home projects happen.

With a warm smile, her dimples displayed a soft kindness that complemented her friendliness and her quiet, yet outgoing demeanor.

Mary was predeceased by her mother Frances and father Kayron Livingston Sr.; sisters Karen Jean and Rose Livingston-Jones; and brothers Kayron Livingston Jr., Melvin Livingston, Ralph Livingston, and Timothy Livingston.

She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her five surviving sisters: Lynda, Venita, Tamar, Thema, and Faith; her sons and daughters: Nicol, Jeremy, Daniel, Ivory, Parris, Channell, Lorenzo; her eight grandchildren: RahJon, Minnie, Malcolm, Jordin, Quinn, Micah, Rory, and Caleb; and, her friends.

A Graveside service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Ewing Cemetery, 78 Scotch Rd., Ewing, NJ 08638.
