Mary L. Evans

Mary L. Evans, age 91, passed away peacefully in Willingboro, New Jersey at Virtua Hospital. She was born on August 23, 1934, and lived a long and meaningful life, touching many through her work, faith, and dedication. Mary was educated in Concord, Georgia, where she attended Pike County Consolidated High School. She remained connected to her roots throughout her life and carried the values she learned there into all that she did.

Throughout her career, Mary held several respected positions. She worked at St. Francis Hospital and Base 10 before" ultimately retiring from Princeton University. Her strong work ethic and commitment left a lasting impression on colleagues and those she served.

A woman of deep faith, Mary was baptized at Old Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Concord, Georgia. Her spirituality remained an important part of her life and guided her actions and relationships.

Mary was preceded in death by her husbands George Pritchett and Charles Evans; her beloved sisters, Lelia Walker, Haralene Cousar, Bessie Lou Harris, Betty James, Cartha Jean Gates, and Eva Mae Murphy; her brother Tommie Neal.

She survived by her loving sister, Glenda Stephen of Lawrenceville, NJ; her devoted children, Cassandra Burnette, and George "12" Pritchett both of Willingboro, NJ; one cherished grandson, Jovan Gaines (Carla) of Edgewater Park, NJ; three great grandchildren, Jaden, Jiana, and Maniyah. She also leaves to cherish her memory, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Mary will be remembered for her strength, her devotion to family, and her enduring faith.

Funeral service will be 10am Monday, May 11, 2026 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ..
