Mary Powell

Mary Powell age 63 of Ewing, NJ passed away May 22, 2023.

Mary was born in Cape Charles, Virginia, and attended public school in both Trenton and Ewing Township from childhood, graduating from Ewing High School in 1977. She was employed for twenty years by the New Jersey Department of Human Services until her retirement. 

During her pre- and post-retirement life, Mary loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed watching the NFL. She never held back cheering for — or defending her favorite team, The Philadelphia Eagles.  As an avid seafood lover, Mary enjoyed sushi rolls, and her top choice for ocean delights was Red Lobster - crab legs were always a must! 

Among Mary's other favorite pastimes was shopping for unique treasures and fine collectibles, including vintage eyewear, antique decorative tins, and porcelain dolls which she recently gifted to family members.

In more recent years, she enjoyed lively road trips to the casino with her sister Mercedes, cousins, and dear friends — slot machines were her favorites.

Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will remain with us, always.

Funeral service will be 11am Friday, June 2, 2023 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618 . Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
