Michael A. Bell

Michael Anthony Bell. known to family and friends as "Mikey Dread" was born on Sept. 22. 1978 in Trenton. NJ to Annette Bell-Council and the Late Michael Benning. He departed this life on Nov.14. 2023 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. NJ at the age of 45. Michael was a graduate of Trenton Central High School and his latest accomplishments were achieving his CDLs along with all endorsements.

In his leisure time. Michael loved cooking and spending time with family and friends. He was a dear friend to many and a loving caring son. brother. father. andpartner. His great sense of humor always made him the life of any party and a pleasure to be around. He had a comical personality that allowed him to walk into any room and fill it with laughter. He was an avid Eagles fan. and a big fan of boxing just like his father.

Michael was preceded in death by his father Michael Benning. paternal grandparents Oscar Benning Sr. and Ida (Big Ma) Benning. Maternal Grandfather Sam Bell Sr., Aunts; Katie Bell-Hodges and Ernestine (Freddie) Montigue. Uncles; Oscar Bennmg Jr .. Tony Benning. and Ronald Benning. Cousins; Jamal Smith-Bell and special cousin Eddy Bell. 

Michael's memory will forever be cherished and remembered by his Parents. Annette Council (Wayne). Children. Michael Bell Jr. Mayracle - Bell. and Semaj Crowley. Siblings: Simaline Bell (Bruce). Taeshawn Snow. and Nazareth Council. Nieces: LaAsia Beautiful Bell and Gorgeous Clayborn. Ne-phews: Jamal Thompson. Acaius Brady. Devin Brady. Trevor Brady. and Raevon Baker. Maternal Grandmother Clara Mae Bell. Uncles: Sam Bell Jr.(Yolanda). Curtis Bell. Martin Bell. and Cardell Bell (Regina). A host of aunts; Florene Bell. Florence Bell. Merle Parkman (Carlton). Denise Ridgeway (Ronnie). Dorothy Patterson (Eric). Clarissa Bell. Robin Bell (Jerome). Willie Pearl Barnes. Diane Neal. Theresa Evans. Yolanda Benning. Jane Benning. and a Special Aunt; Deborah Matlock (Thomas). His other extended family; The Council Family. A host of cousins. including two special cousins Omar Benning and Gerald Hodges Jr., Fiance Valerie Tarver. and bonus children Bayshawn Glover. Derek Glover. Jahmir Glover. MarKenzie Tarver. and Mark Tarver. The Mother of his Children. Candice Crowley. and friends Kemyatta Palms. Clarence (Chubb) Jones. Walter (Boog) Daniels. Eddie (Ed Moe) Jr .. and special friend Erica White. Michael "Mikey Dread" will be missed dearly and his memory will remain in our hearts forever. May his soul rest in Peace. Funeral service will be 1pm Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 340 Calhoun St., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 11am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ. Aranngements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
