Michael L. Johnson

Michael Leon Johnson, son of Gwendolyn Johnson and Donald Wortham, was born on April 7th 1984 in Trenton, NJ.  Michael was called to be with the Lord on Friday, September 3, 2021.

Mike, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, spent his life in Trenton, NJ where he was educated in the Trenton Public Schools system.

Michael was employed for numerous warehouse companies throughout the cities of Trenton and Florence, NJ.

Michael had such a genuine and laid back personality. He was a loving, caring and family-oriented guy.  Mike always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell. He enjoyed making people laugh.
 
Michael's favorite pastimes consisted of fishing with his family, playing his video games, cookouts in the backyard, and most importantly, listening to his radio.  As anyone who knew Mike can attest, he had a special love for music. As a child he enjoyed playing football and basketball with his friends, but his radio was his true best friend. Mike took his radio everywhere.

Michael was predeceased in death by his Mother Gwendolyn Johnson; Father Donald Wortham;  Grandparents Sarah Johnson and James McGhee; Great Grandparents Mary Johnson, Ike Johnson Sr and Walter Rogers; Uncles Sylvester McGhee and Ike Johnson Jr;  Aunt Christine Johnson; and Cousin Shaquille Williams.

Michael leaves to cherish his memories; two sisters Joanne Sutherland of Trenton, NJ and Shauquana Johnson of Camden, NJ; two Aunts, Carolyn McGhee (John) of Mt. Holly, NJ and Channen McGhee of Hamilton, NJ; two Uncles, Vincent Johnson of Mt. Holly, NJ and James McGhee (Lorraine) of Lumberton, NJ; his nieces, I'mani and Iyonna of Trenton, NJ, Sarah, Madisyn and Savannah of Camden, NJ; and his nephews, Michael and Nazir of Camden, NJ; his significant other Tamika Cox;  two close friends, Marcus Haile and Jamil Engram-Caver. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends that are truly going to forever miss "Big Mike."

Funeral service will be 3pm Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 2pm until the time of service.  Interment will be private.
