Michael Whitfield

With much love spread and many memories shared, our beloved "Mike" accepted his angel's invitation into the kingdom on Saturday, September 27, 2025 in the Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. As a result, our hearts are less bright but we know the heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter.

Michael Whitfield was born on Tuesday, March 07, 1967, in Saint Augustine, Florida to Rufus Whitfield and Sarah G. Proctor.

Michael was educated primarily in the Trenton school system, and he attended Trenton Central High School. He was employed as a Maintenance Engineer at Waste Management.

In his leisure time, Michael enjoyed watching basketball and football. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed spending quality time with family and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Rufus Whitfield; his mother Sarah G. Proctor; his sister Lucinda Proctor; his brother Lovette Whitfield.

Michael's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his brother Matthew Proctor of Accra Ghana, Africa; his sister Michelle Whitfield of Palm Bay, FL; his three nephews Dean Proctor, Jonas Whitfield and Jopseth Whitfield; his four aunts Hattie Powell of Palm Coast, an aunt Maryant Bryant, Angela Proctor and Cassandra Proctor all of St. Augustine, FL; an uncle Clarence Proctor of St. Augustine, FL: and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

 Funeral service will be at 11am Monday, October 13, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service.
