With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Milton A. Gordon of Moorestown, NJ (formerly of Trenton, NJ), a beloved father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend.
Born on October 10, 1955, in Trenton, New Jersey, Milton’s life was a shining example of unwavering devotion to his family, his faith, and his work. Raised in Trenton, Milton carried the spirit of his hometown with pride. The foundation he built there anchored a life defined by dedication, strength, and integrity.
From an early age, Milton stood out for his brilliance and sharp wit. He excelled in honors classes at Trenton Central High School and was especially gifted with numbers, often calculating faster than most could think. His passion for technology led him into a career as a computer technician, where he thrived for over 30 years. Widely regarded as one of the top technicians in his field, Milton was respected not only for his unmatched technical ability but also for his calm presence, humility, and dedication to excellence.
Milton’s proudest role in life was that of a father and grandfather. He was a devoted dad to his three children: Shontel Dowdell, James Dowdell, and Morgan Gordon. He showed up to every milestone, event, and special moment, remaining a steady presence in their lives well into adulthood. As a grandfather, he embraced his role with endless love and affection, cherishing every memory made and always making his grandchildren feel seen and adored.
A man of deep faith, Milton was a long-standing member of Trenton Deliverance Center. There, he served faithfully as a deacon, a Sunday school teacher, and a dedicated member of the men’s choir. His spiritual leadership and gentle wisdom left a lasting impression on all who worshipped beside him.
Milton was preceded in death by his father, Cyril A. Gordon, and his oldest brother, Jimmy Lee Brown. He is lovingly survived by his mother, Annie Lou Gordon, and his siblings: Leaford “Mark” (Ionie-deceased) Clarke, Cynthia (James) Glover, Cyril Gordon Jr., Jayne Gordon, Carol (Jay) Hendricks, and Michelle (Albert) Matlock. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends who will forever honor his memory.
Milton’s life was rooted in service and love. Whether helping to fix a computer, leading with patience in church, or showing up for his children and grandchildren, he did so with joy. His strength was quiet, his intellect sharp, and his heart generous.
Though we grieve his passing, we give thanks for the gift of his life, wisdom, and the love he poured into those around him. Milton’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us always.
Funeral service will be 11am Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Trenton Deliverance Center Church, 1100 S. Clinton Ave, Trenton, NJ 08611. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
