Milton Tibbs

When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. 

Our Lord and Savior called his faithful servant, our beloved Milton to rest on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Yardville, New Jersey. As a result, our hearts are less bright but we know the Heavens are filled with extra doses of Love, Joy, Peace and Laughter. 

Milton Gandhi Tibbs, born May 5, 1950 in East Orange, New Jersey to Reverend Albert J. Tibbs Sr. and Marjorie G. Tibbs. After relocating to Yardville, he was a resident for 19 years. 

He was educated in the Ewing Township public school system. Milton furthered his education while attending Trenton State College. He was employed as a teacher at Trenton Central High School where he taught fine arts. 

Milton attended Union Baptist Church. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Reverend Albert J. Tibbs Sr. and Marjorie G. Tibbs; four sisters Margo Tibbs, Joyce Cooper (Winston)Alberta Tibbs and Comora Pewell. 

Milton's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his Iovino wife Judy Tibbs; two brothers Reverend Albert J. Tibbs (Tanya) and Wonzo J. Tibbs (Pam); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; lastly his loving Westie Pup, Trent. 

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me 
I took his hand when I heard his call l turned my back and left it all 

I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work, to play . 

Tasks left undone must stay that way I've found that peace at the close of the day 

If my parting has left avoid then. fill it with remembered joy 

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah yes, these things I too will miss 

Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow 
My life's been full, I've savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch 

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don't lengthen it now with undue grief 
Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free. 

A Memorial service will be held 12pm, Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Union Baptist Church, 301 Pennington Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Interment will be private.  Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
