Miriam Tameka Rooks 53 born in Trenton NJ who mainly went by Tameka transitioned peacefully May 17th, 2026 while having her loved, one James Calvin Blandon by her side. Tameka was bought into this word May 29, 1972 and is the eldest of her siblings. Her 53 spirit that touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. years were filled with laughter, compassion, and an indomitable.
Tameka was predeceased by her dear sons, Jamere and Calvin Rooks, whose memories she held close to her heart every single day. Her strength and resilience in the face of such loss were a testament to her enduring spirit and love for her family.
She was the proud and devoted mother of Ashley Rooks, Shaquanna Rooks, Malcom Rooks, Moesha Rooks, Kashmere White, and Brendaya McBride. She was their guiding light, always providing support and encouragement, and instilling in them the values of kindness, integrity, and perseverance.
Her legacy extends to her twelve grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye. Her joy in being their grandmother was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with them, sharing stories, laughter, and affection that will forever remain in their hearts.
The family of Tameka wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation for all the love, support, prayers, and kind gestures shown during this time of loss. Your presence has brought comfort and peace, and for that, they are deeply grateful.
Tameka will be remembered not just for the life she lived but for the love she gave unconditionally. Her legacy is one of hope and resilience, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved forever.
Funeral service will be 1pm Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 12pm until the time of the service. Interment will be at Fountain Lawn Memorial Park, Ewing, NJ.
