Monica D. Harper

Monica D. Ha rper was born on October 10th, 1958 to the late Donald G. Harper and Peggy Anderson. At the significant age of 66, she departed this life on Good Friday April 18th, 2025 at Capital Health Fuld Hospital in Trenton, NJ. Born in Newark, NJ Monica attended Madison School. Her parents later settled in Scotch Plains, NJ where she graduated from Scotch Plains High School.

After high school she attended HBCU Delaware State University earning a bachelor's degree in psychology. She would then go on to become a self employed entrepreneur owning insurance offices and became a credit and debt expert. She was also licensed real estate agent for Remax Platinum and a Senior loan officer.

Monica was a member of both Peddie Memorial Baptist Church in Newark, NJ and First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Somerset, NJ.

In addition to her parents, Monica was predeceased by brother Butchie Harper; sisters Gwendolyn "GiGi" and Cathy Harper.

Her hobbies included Bible study, watching tennis, basketball, and Super Bowl. She enjoyed also crocheting, gardening, and drawing.

She is survived by her children GiGi Kendema, Brianna McGill, Charles Brandon McGill; grandchildren Alex Maninez, }axon McGill, Kali Kendema, Isla McGill, and Lukas Kendema; and a host of other special relatives, bonus daughters and dear friends.

Funeral service will be 11am Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
