Monqual Lamier Boyer-Thomas was born in Ewing Township, New Jersey on March 9, 1991. He attended the Ewing Public Schools and was a graduate of Ewing High School. He later enrolled in Mercer County Community College, where he majored in Business Administration and took classes during the day, while he worked evenings training individuals with developmental disabilities.
After several years of earning college credits and working nights, Monqual joined the Army National Guard and began his basic training in the military and often travelled throughout New Jersey on army exped tions and weekend assignments. He had hoped to work in law enforcement and after delaying his career for a few years, he was about to begin a new position as a Medical Service Officer with the State of New Jersey, at the Ancora Psychiatric Hospital in Hammonton, NJ.
Monqual was a very loving child and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In his early years, he attended the El Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. John A. Gaines. He played several different sports and joined the Ewing HS basketball team and summer leagues. He was a good team player, but also very competitive showing both agility and physical strength. He was a caring person who thought about others and tried to lielp them-he checked on his family members, watched over his siblings, visited relatives, and made sure he kept in touch with the special people in his life. Finally, he dearly loved his son, Maisyn, and he tried to be the best father a son could ever wish for.
Monqual departed this life at home on Saturday, June 21, 2025. He has left a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him dearly.
Monqual is predeceased in death by his grandparents, Winfield Thomas, Sr., Emmett Griffin and Denise Buchanan, and Rufus and Delores McCray; and his uncles, Kevin Thomas and Eugene Thomas.
He is survived by his parents, Ryan Thomas, and Tyease (Steven) Campbell; his paternal grandmother, Barbara Thomas; his only son, Maisyn Boyer-Thomas; his three brothers, Terrance Grissom II, Markquice and Devon Thomas; three sisters, TaAsia Campbell, Shamika and Kourtnell Thomas; a special aunt/mother, Delores Ann McCray; two aunts, Sarah ( Derrick) Freeman and Sylvia (Fredrick) Stout; a special uncle, Donte (Lori) Boyer; a special friend, Neidaliz Rivera; Godmother, Michelle Rustin; and a host of other uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 9:30am Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Ministerios Fraternidad Cristiana, 715 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Interment will be Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
