Narlene Green Obituary

Celebration of Life – Narlene Green Narlene Green was born on August 2, 1950, to Colon Sr. and Helen Kennedy. From the very beginning, she carried a vibrant spirit and a deep love for people that followed her throughout her life.

Over the years, Narlene worked in several roles, including at UPI, CV Hills Refrigeration, the City of Trenton, and the Trenton Housing Authority. But her life was never defined by titles, it was defined by who she was to others.

Her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her daughter, Lashawn. Narlene’s smile could light up any room, and to know her was to feel welcomed, inspired, and loved. She adored animals, especially her beloved dogs, Remus, who has since passed on, and Bella, who was never far from her side (especially when ice cream was involved).

Narlene was deeply committed to her community. She organized cabarets, holiday parties, toy drives, and fashion shows for local children. She supported animal rescue efforts and worked with city and government officials, including the mayor, on initiatives that helped inner-city families. She never hesitated to give money, clothes, or her time to those in need. She also walked alongside Liza Minnelli as an advocate in the fight against AIDS, proudly raising awareness and standing up for those affected by the disease. Helping people was not a hobby for her, it was who she was.

She mentored young women and men, helped them secure housing, guided them through life’s challenges, and always made them believe they could accomplish more. To many, she was a once-in-a-lifetime blessing.

Narlene was a devoted member of Galilee and Friendship Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as an usher and on the nursing board. Her legacy is one of love, service, and joy and her impact will live on in every life she touched. She will forever remain in our hearts.
