Nina Michelle Smith-Williams transitioned to her new home with the Lord on Sunday, April 7, 2024, peacefully at home. She was born May 18, 1964 at Helene Fuld Hospital in Trenton, New Jersey to Edward Smith and Laura Mae Clary who predeceased her in life.
Nina attended and graduated from the Trenton Public School district and obtained her certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant from Nursing School. A woman of many talents she later pursued and meritoriously received her CDL with Rick Bus Company where she later retired.
Nina accepted Christ many years ago. She recently became a member of the Angel Wings Baptist Church, she was a former member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Trenton, New Jersey, and prior to her illness; she Was an active member Of the Eastern Stars.
Nina was an outstanding member of her community, touching the hearts of many. She unselfishly went beyond measures to extend her hand to anyone in need. She lovingly cared for the elderly with patience and provided guidance and meritorship to young women recovering from addictions, abuse, .ancl:liOmelesness. She wasn't afraid to take on the challenges. Nina opened her doors to Many and became their "mom" or "auntie". Nina Michelle Smith-Williams had a heart that was electrifying, magical and real. Her own testimony touched people fi-Om• all walks of life, and it helped change their lives for the good. To know her is to love her She had a Way of talking to you and she meant what she said, and you felt what she meant
Nina loved-AoidatiCe. As a young child she showcased her talent with the Trenton Steppers and Drill teams As a teenager, she used to have dance offs against her brother Eddie. Even during her illness, she would find a•partner to dance with, whether it be her sons, daughters, or her graridehildren. Aside from dancing, Nina had a passion for reading and writing, playing spades, dominoes, and most of all, love of family. Her children and grandchildren are everything to her When you saw Nina, you saw her adult kids and grandChildren. She was so proud Of therm and her words were always the same, "these are all mines", She celebrated all their accomplishments and always let them know how prodd she Was of them.
Nina Michelle Smith Williams is also predeceased by her husband Rufus Williams; daughter Monique Smith, brothers James and Edward Nottingham; paternal grandparents Robert and Flossie Smith; maternal grandmom Daisy Bell Young; an Aunt Daisy Ames.
Nina's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by her 3 sons, Naeem Smith, Anthony Smith, Kariem Smith; 2 daughters, Diamond Smith-Williams, and Shekinah Smith Williams, all of New Jersey; 12 grandchildren who she adored; one nephew, Taylor Clark; stepsons Marquise Seigal, Bayshawn Williamson, Tashawn Lewis, Victor Baylor; and a host of cousins, friends and many who called her mom.
Funeral service will be 1pm Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 12pm until the time of service. Interment will be private.
