Nyeisha Sakia Saunders, affectionately known as “Nye”, 41 of Trenton, New Jersey was lifted into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on March 26, 2023. As a result, our hearts are a little less bright. We know that the Heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter.
Nyeisha was born on May 21,1981 in Trenton, NJ to Leroy Saunders, Jr. and the late Irene “Stacey Mingo” Alford. She was educated in the Burlington City School District where she graduated in 2001. Nye was a member of the Imperial Debs and the Willingboro Cheerleading Team. She received awards and recognition for her outstanding performance.
Nyeisha moved to Trenton, NJ in 2002 to begin working as a Nursing Assistant. Later she furthered her career as a Mental Health Technician at Penn Medicine of Princeton. She was also a certified Dialysis and Phlebotomy Technician.
Nyeisha’s life was filled with love, laughter, family, friends and many other activities. She enjoyed traveling and exploring new eateries. Such as spending Sundays, grabbing a slice of pizza at Special Pizza City or wings at Chuck. Also, her favorite pastime was shopping.
Nyeisha was predeceased by her mother, Irene “Stacey Mingo” Alford; her maternal grandmother, Margaret Mingo; and an uncle, Archie Leon Davis.
Nyeisha will be forever missed by her three children: Dominique Saunders, Najere Saunders, and Shyne Williams; her father, Leroy Saunders, Jr (Maria); paternal grandmother, Carole Day; two sisters Tanyall Law (Jazmin) and Imani Robinson; two brothers, Leroy Saunders, III and Leron Saunders; four aunts: Patricia Mingo-Leverette, Dawn Reaves (Chuck), Danita “Lisa” Saunders–Davis, and Shannon Hutton-Canty (Shameka); three uncles: Stanley Hutton, Derrick Hutton, and Stephan Hutton; her close friend, Latoris Owens; as well as a host of many other friends and relatives, including her Penn Medicine Family

Funeral service will be 1pm Friday, April 7, 2023 at Calvary Pentecostal Church, 471 Parkway Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 11am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
