With much love and many memories shared, our beloved Ola accepted her angels invitation into the kingdom at her home in Trenton, New jersey on Saturday, October 10, 2020. As a result, our hearts are less bright but we know the heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter.
Ola Williams, born March 7, 1959 in Trenton to john R. Williams and Mary A. Williams. She remained a lifelong resident of Trenton.
She was educated in the Trenton public school system, where she attended Trenton Central High School, and Peace Corp Training. She joined the military where she served in the United States Army until she was honorably discharged. Ola was employed as a Truancy Officer for the Trenton Board of Education for 26 years and had recently retired.
Ola was an avid reader of romance novels and enjoyed watching classic movies. She loved to draw and paint in her younger days. Ola was very athletic and enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, tennis, and swimming. During a few summers, Ola was a lifeguard at junior #1 Swimming Pool. She encouraged many of the neighborhood kids to come swim and have fun. Ola had a presence wherever she went.
She often did activities with the neighborhood kids and her very own nieces and nephews. Ola loved the kids. She was always willing to help take care of her nieces and nephews, to help their parents when needed. She loved to spend time with them. She also loved to care for the family pets like Kiara, Sparky, Casper, and 8 Ball. She even took care of the stray cats in her neighborhood. Ola loved music and singing a-long to such artist as Tevin Campbell, Whitney Houston and many others. Ola was outgoing and a friend to many. As we reflect on Ola, we will remember the laughter she brought, the smiles she gave and most of all the love she shared.
