Pamela Swanson, 75 of Trenton. NJ passed into the loving embrace of the Lord on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Capital Health, Hopewell, Pam was born at McKinley Hospital in Trenton, NJ on April 27, 1950 to Harold and Gretell Mason.
Pam, as she was affectionately known. was a lifelong resident of Trenton She attended the Trenton Public school system and graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1968. Pam was employed at General Motors, Foodtown, Super G, and Crest Paper Company. She retired from the State of New Jersey, Department of Community Affairs as a Technical Assistant in Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) after 18 years of service
Pam loved her Lord Jesus Christ and served faithfully at Shiloh Baptist Church under the esteemed leadership of Rev. Dr. Darrell L. Armstrong. Pam loved her church although from time to time she worshipped at other churches in the City of Trenton. Pam also loved helping and always offered a warm infectious smile to those she encountered. She had an amazing loving spirit which she shared to uplift others.
Pam enjoyed fellowshipping through worship. She attended several conferences of TD Jake's "'Women Thou Art Loosed" and Tanya Young-Williams' "Women, Wisdom & Wine Bible Study". She participated in the "New Lease on Life" program at Galilee Baptist Church. Pam was a member of a worldwide fellowship for over 35 years and enjoyed friendship with members in the Capital Area and around the world
Pam was an exceptional caregiver and a Certified Nursing Assistant. She cared for many elderly women, most of them until the time of their death. Pam's loving and nurturing spirit was truly of gift from God and she took great pride in the care she provided. Anytime one of her friends' family members needed help with care, Pam volunteered and showed up with a great big smile to brighten their day and encourage them with the word of God,
Pam loved to travel. She went on numerous vacations and cruises with her son, Yusef and wife, Victoria, the Shabazz family & friends, the Roosevelt Walker family and friends, and the House Music Takeover crew. Just last year, Pam traveled to Australia and New Zealand with her first cousins. Pam loved life and she loved "her" people. To know her was to love her and she will be greatly missed.
Pamela was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Gretell Mason; her brother. Harold Mason, Jr.; her son, Venson Swanson III (Yusef); her nephew, Kyle J. Mason her niece, Nicole Brown.
Pamela's memories will be cherished by her son, Jamal V. Swanson (Fuquan); her brother, Niam J. Mason (Susan); her daughter-in-law, Victoria Swanson; her bonus children, daughter Tonia Leak: sons. Darryl Lockett and Jermaine Swanson; her nephew, Jabree Ashburn; her grandchildren, Niam Adams (Mecca), Tanaya Scott Shawn). Dominique Bethea, Dayshawn Robinson (Victoria), Jamal Bethea, Janar Robinson, and Jamal V. Swanson; her great grandchildren, Niam, Nazir, Nyla, Namir Yahsan. Julian, Julius Charlie, Zahniya, Ahniyah, and Mayson: her goddaughter Tangie Law; her numerous special friends, (you know who you are): and a host of aunts. uncles, nieces, nephews. cousins. other relatives and friends.
Homegoing services will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Shiloh Baptist Church located at 340 Calhoun St., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will commence at 9:00am with the funeral service beginning promptly at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
