Paulette Meeks George Obituary

Paulette Lola Meeks George, an only child, was born on April 15, 1946 to the late Lester K. Meeks and the late Lola Harvey Woodson in Trenton, N.J.

She was raised and educated within the Trenton Public School System and graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1964. She continued her education at the former Hampton Institute, now Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia where she graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. Upon completion of her education, she returned to New Jersey to become an educator teaching business classes at J.P. Stevens High School in Edison, N.J. Later in her career she served as the Board Secretary for the Lawnside, New Jersey Board of Education until 1984.

Paulette suffered a debilitating brain aneurysm in her late thirties which changed her life forever. She was not meant to live beyond the incident, but continued to live for over 38 years. During her illness she continued to educate and spent time volunteering at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen and the Rescue Mission of Trenton teaching the patrons GED level English classes. Paulette loved Earth Wind and Fire, Marvin Gaye and Motown. Her favorite snacks were Charles’ Chips, Twizzlers and Pepsi. She was known to decorate with colorful mushroom figurines.

Paulette exchanged time for eternity on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 4:02 am at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE after her prolonged illness.

Former wife of Gaylord T. George, Paulette leaves to mourn two children, Gennifer George and Jason George (Chesira). She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, Arielle Jones and Ahmad Jones, Lalanei Richardson, Brandon George, Caydence Russo, Jaxon and Geovanni George.
