Philip Lee Williamson Obituary

Philip Lee Williamson peacefully passed on to heaven on April 26, 2025. Born on February 19, 1947, in Beacon, New York, he was the second child of Harriet and Paul Williamson.

Affectionately known as "Phil" or "Flip" was currently a resident of Hamilton, New Jersey. He previously lived in Mahwah and Paterson, New Jersey, and spent his formative years in Beacon and Wappingers Falls, New York. Phil graduated from Beacon High School in 1966 and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1970. During his service, he traveled the world, sending o souvenir home to his beloved mother from each port of call.

Following his military service, Phil earned an associate degree from Dutchess Community College and went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the State University of New York al New Paltz. He began his professional career as a Sales Representative with IBM, covering the New York City area, and continued In soles for more than a decade. Loter, he worked al several car dealerships in Bergen County, New Jersey, before concluding his career al White Arrow Transportaion Company in Secaucus. New Jersey, retiring in 2011.

Phil was an avid New York Giants fan and a loyal (when they were winning) supporter of the New York Knicks. He loved traveling, listening to classic R&B. and especially riding his Goldwing motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harriet and Paul Williamson Sr., his brothers Poul Jr. and Norman Williamson; and his sister Linda Wiliamson. 

Phil is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Lecia Williamson; his sons, Philip Rashad (Diana) of Wayne, NJ, and Lonee (Janette) of Midland Pork, NJ; his sister, Anita Williamson (Matt Flynn) of New York City; and his brother, Steve Williamson of Kennesaw, GA. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Jalisa Minor of La Plato, MD, and Justin Minor of Lodi, N.J., and his cherished grandchildren: Alexis Williamson, Tatiana Willamson, Briella Williamson, Lance Williamson Jr., Donovan Williamson, and twins Foith and Hope Minor.

He leaves behind his Aunt Lorraine Frazier of Locust Grove, GA, his nephew Lee McKinney (Shellie) from Lorton, VA. niece Jawne Mckinney of Dallas, TX, grandnieces Amaro McKinney from Alexandria, VA., and Yolando Lancaster- Pringle of Houston, TX, grandnephew Umar McKinney of Brooklyn, NY and great grandnephew Darius Pringle of Houston, TX. Phil will be deeply missed by his lifelong friend Bob Tote, the Pittman family (cousins), the dear friends of the Icon Riverwalk community, and a host of other friends and extended family.

Funeral service will be 12pm Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 340 Rev. S. Howard Woodson Jr Way, Trenton, NJ 08618.  Calling hour will be 11am until time of service. Interment will be at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
