On the cold night, Sunday, January 28th, 2024, approximately 6:30 PM. The Lord transitioned Plesie Nichols from Capital Health Hospital, Plesie Nichols was born February 12, 1935, to late Ausey and Annie May Heath of Marion County, Ocala Florida. She was the baby of a family of 9 children. Plesie (aka Bunch), nicknamed by the oldest brother, met her late husband James Charles Nichols at a young age, and they both got married on January 26, 1957.
Plesie Nichols was a devoted loving wife and an excellent mother of four son and a daughter. However, the oldest son preceded into glory. She did not believe in daycare, so she took the responsibility to be a homemaker and took care of her children until they were able to fend for themselves.
Due to finding greener pastures for the family, Plesie and James relocated to NJ in 1968. As much as Plesie Nichols was a homemaker, she never gave up her dreams of getting a formal education. Plesie Nichols, at the age of 50, became a student and went back to college to achieve her dream of college education. With determination, discipline, and dedication, she graduated as a social worker. She worked for Childcare Connections and NJ Taxation.
Plesie Nichols leaves behind her three sons Reginald, Rodney and Jonathan; her daughter Little Mama Plesie; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Plesie Nichols will be missed by her family and friends, especially Miller Homes Friends.
Funeral service will be 11am Friday, February 9, 2024 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be at Colonial Memory Park Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
