Rachel Patterson-Green

Rachel Elaine Hawk Patterson Green was born on May 25, 1952, to her loving parents Ulysses Hawk Sr. and Grace (Austin) Hawk Sr. Jacksonville, FL. She later moved with her family to Trenton, NJ in 1954.

She graduated from Lawrence High School. Her passion for beauty and service led her into a vibrant career as a Makeup Consultant. She worked at Dunham's Department Store and later in some of the largest malls across New Jersey, always bringing with her a tireless work ethic, a kind spirit and an unmatched sense of style. Throughout her career, she also worked in several other industries, including Hill Wallack LLP and SERV Behavioral Health System Inc. in Trenton. Her radiant smile and warm presence touched countless lives.

As a faithful servant of the Lord, she was a longtime member of Wayne Avenue Baptist Church, where she joyfully sang in the Pastor's Choir. Music was a part of her soul / she loved to sing and always had a song in her heart. Rachel attended Mt. Sinai Seventh-Day Adventist Church in her earlier years and later returned as a devoted member of her family's church, where she continued to shine for the Lord.

Rachel had a true passion for helping others, always giving from the heart - even when she didn't have much to give. To us, she was our Diana Ross - always radiant, always graceful. She loved makeup, perfume and shopping. Rachel carried a timeless beauty that reflected her vibrant spirit. She was a fashion model and hosted many fashion shows across the state. Rachel was always full of life, always making plans, always believing that the best was yet to come.

Rachel cherished her siblings deeply and found joy in being the third oldest of fifteen children. Her love for her family was unwavering whether through words of encouragement, sharing memories, or being the one to hold everyone together during the holidays. The holidays brought her endless joy - she loved decorating for Christmas, buying Peeps at Easter, and cooking turkeys for Thanksgiving. She also enjoyed making Easter baskets and Christmas stockings. Hosting family gatherings was her way of showing love, always keeping God at the center of every celebration.

Funeral service will be 12pm Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Mt. Sinai Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 35 Arlington Ave, Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 11am until the time of service. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton NJ.
