Robert Ross Burrell, Jr., was the fourth eldest of seven children, of the late Robert Ross Burrell, Sr. and Mildred Burrell. He was born March 5, 1933 in Princeton, NJ. He went from labor to
reward on Sunday, August 27,2023 at Capital Health Systems at Fuld. Robert was educated in the Princeton Public School System.
Robert (Bobby) honorably served in the United States Army from April 21, 1953 to April 20, 1955. He was Private First Class, Squad Leader, and Paratrooper. Bobby was employed for Johnstone Training Center for over 30 years as a "cook" and a supervisor for housekeeping. He was also he chief officer of their Credit Union. He was an avid fisherman with his beloved Gloria. As a young boy, he was noted as the "Best Camper" and fisherman.
He was afaithful member for over 50 years at Shiloh Baptist Church until his health declined. His greatst love was being the Head Cook, not only for Shiloh but for Courtney Temple, Grace
Cathedral and many other churches with GLoria by his side. "He was the Best of the Best and second to NONE." He touched so many people within the community and was a mentor to alot of young men. His horne was a place where you could always come to get a good, hot, wholesome and delicous meal, especially on Sundays ~nd holidays.
He was predecded in death by his first wife Mary Lou McRae. God blessed him again to unite with Gloria Louise Wallace for over 50 years. His sisters, Delores Taylor, Elsie Washington,
Muriel Hill and Ruth E. Richards; and stepson John E. Wallace, Jr.
He leaves the cherish his precious memories, son Rev. Robert Ross Burrell, 3RD (Denise); daughter and "Caregiver" Elder Michele Jackson (Gary); grandchildren Gary Ryan Jackson (G.J.), Azariah Burrell, and Aeisha Wallace; stepson Donald Wallace (Tone); sisters Katherine F. Courtney and Mildred Duhee (Howard); a very special "Angel" and "Caregiver" Mr. Donald Postell;
longtime buddy Charles Hall; sister friend Earnestine Crosby; and a host of nieces, nephews, couisns, Shiloh family, and friends.
Funeral service will be 11am Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 340 Calhoun St., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Church Cemetery, Ewing, NJ. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
