Robert Anthony Smith

Robert Anthony (Cunningham) Smith affectionately known as “Bob” was born on June 9, 1981 to Celestine (Smith) Palmer and Michael Cunningham in Trenton, New Jersey. He departed this earthly world on April 18, 2021 at the age of 39.

Bob was the youngest child, raised in Trenton, New Jersey. He received his formal education in the Burlington County and Willingboro Public School systems. Graduating from Willingboro High School, class of 1999. It was there he met the love of his life; Chimere Smith. The two married in 2011. From this union, they were blessed with two of Bob’s clones, daughter, Jada A. Smith and son, Justin M. Smith.

Always a workaholic; Bob entered the workforce at the young age of 12. His first job was at Final Hair Phase in Willingboro, NJ. He continued his education receiving his IT certification in 2000. After starting a family, Bob relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 2005. Once there he broadened his interests, acquiring his Real Estate license.

In 2009, Bob started employment with Wells Fargo as an Assistant Vice President. He led critical customer and nonprofit engagement efforts during the housing crisis. Throughout his time at Wells Fargo, Bob held various roles with increasing responsibilities in home mortgage servicing, community relations, and with the social impact & sustainability teams. In 2020, Bob partnered with his brother, Javon Woodard in opening their own trucking company, Woodard&Smith Logistics LLC.

In his spare time, Bob had become a gym rat at the notorious Effect Fitness Gym in Atlanta. He loved to travel, was a lover of music and mostly enjoyed any activity with Jada & Justin. On any given day he would often say they are his best friends. Bob was loving, kind, patient, an encourager, a listening ear, and always had a way with words. He was witty, humble, and incredibly smart; Bob was so many things to many people. Simply put Bob was the BEST! His smile was contagious and his laugh was one of a kind. All those who knew and loved him will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Chuck Hutchinson and uncles, Michael Smith and Ronnie Cunningham.

Bob leaves a legacy of love and a life to be celebrated by his parents, mother, Celestine Palmer (Lenos) and father, Michael Cunningham (Toni); wife, Chimere Smith; children, Jada A. Smith and Justin M. Smith, brother, Qeyon Smith (Latrice); two special brothers, Javon Woodard (Courtney) and Maurice Smith; godbrother, Javon Carter; grandfather, James Smith; grandmother, Kate Hutchinson; three nieces, one nephew, one special aunt, Latonia Smith; aunts, Cassandra Turpin of NJ and Charon Smith of Michigan; uncles, Darryl Cunningham, Richard Smith both of NJ, and Chris Smith of Louisiana; close friends, Leroy Peterson, Desmond Wright (Tiffany), Danielle Thompson (Ameer) and a host of cousins and friends.
