With much love spread and many memories shared, our beloved Robert accepted his angel's invitation into the kingdom on Friday, July 3, 2020 in Trenton, New Jersey. As a result, our hearts are less bright but we know the heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter.
Robert Hayven Smith, born August 23, 1949 in Birmingham, Alabama to Evelyn Smith and James Bishop. He relocated to New Jersey and was a resident of Trenton for fifty-four years.
He was a graduate of Ramsey High School in Birmingham. He was employed at the Holiday Inn in Hopewell, New Jersey as a cook.
In his leisure time, Robert loved watching wrestling and football and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed dancing and singing oldies music. He loved drinking cocktails.
Do you think the time is right?
May I say goodbye to pain filled days and endless lonely nights?
I've lived my life and done my best, an example I tried to be.
So can l take that step beyond and set my spirit free?
I didn't want to go at first, I fought with all my might.
But something seems to draw me now to a warm and loving light.
I want to go I really do. It's difficult to stay.
I'll not be far, I promise that, and hope you'll always know
that my spirit will be close to you wherever you may go.
Thank you so for loving me. You know I love you too,
that's why it's hard to say goodbye and end this life with you.
He was preceded in death by his mother Evelyn Smith; his father James Bishop; his daughter Pam Smith.
Robert's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his loving wife Rosalee Tucker; a daughter Tonya Tucker; his grandchildren Chakeia Boston and
Nathaniel Boston; great grandchildren Khamari Boston and Veremiah Boston; his sons Mark Tucker and Terrielle Tucker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
