Rodney A. Wilcox, Sr. affectionately known as "Pookie", was born N 13,1968 to the late LeRoy and Nellie "Billie" Washington, Sr. He departed this life on August 24, 2021 at home in Augusta, GA.
Born in Trenton, NJ, Rodney was a lifelong resident of the area. He was educated in Trenton Public School System and graduated from Trenton Central High School class of 1988. He was self-employed in the tri-state area.
Rodney loved racing cars. He was known for having a souped-up engine and blasting loud old school rap music. He would also give out money in the neighborhood. Family was important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them.
In addition to his parents, Rodney was predeceased by a son, Rodney Andre Wilcox, Jr.; a brother, Albert Johnson; a sister, Andrea Johnson; and a aunt, Elula Mae Laster.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Iasia Wilcox; his children: Andrea (Yazman) Robinson, Kayla Wilcox, Andre Wilcox, Imani Wilcox, Imyrah "Ms.Billie" Wilcox, and Keith Jennings; a step-daughter, Shaherra Garvin; his grandchildren: Ra'Najah Wilcox, Khamarr Fox, Raquel Wilcox, Rodney Andre Wilcox III, Raven Wilcox, Yazlyn Robinson, and X'ier Robinson; his siblings: Alvin Johnson, LeRoy Washington, Jr., Dreama (James) Darden, Cynthia Bing, John Wayne Johnson, John Lee Laster, Jr., Tammy Laster, and Leana Johnson; special aunts, Claire Mae Laster, Willie Mae Harris, and JoAnn Bing; his uncles, Willie James Wilcox, Eddie Laster, Jerome Laster, Keith Bing, Andrew Bing, and Jonathan Bing; a special niece, Olivia Darden; a godson, Davon William; his god mother, Patricia Thomas; special friends, Thomas Jefferson III, VJ and The Pittman Family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 12pm Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Calvary Pentecostal, 471 Parkway Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be at Colonial Memorial Park Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
