Roslyn’s Life Story
With much love spread and many memories shared, our beloved Roslyn accepted her angel’s invitation into the kingdom on Saturday, December 21, 2024, in Hamilton, New Jersey. As a result, our hearts are less bright but we know the heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace, and laughter.
Roslyn Renee Sherman was born on September 15, 1962, in Trenton, New Jersey, to Helen and Joe Sherman.
She was educated at the Cathedral Catholic, she was a La Debu Debutante, and she graduated from Notre Dame High School. Roslyn furthered her education by attending Georgia State University. She entered the military, where she served in the United States Army. While in the Army, she was a member of WAC (Women’s Army Corp), and she also served as a diesel mechanic. She then attended Mercer County Community College and finally Thomas Edison College. She dedicated over three decades of public service with the State of New Jersey with various professional titles, through multiple Gubernatorial Offices, and the Office of Information Technology as well as tax preparation.
In her leisure time, Roslyn had a passion for helping others. She enjoyed traveling, listening to music, and dancing. She loved to laugh and smile, and she genuinely loved to live life and create beautiful experiences. Roslyn will be remembered as someone who was very reliable and trustworthy and had a beautiful spirit.
She was predeceased by her grandmother, Susie A. Cox.
Roslyn’s memory will be cherished and forever remembered by her mother, Helen Sherman; her father, Joe Sherman; her daughter, Constance “Connie” Sherman; her two sisters, Tenise and Chanda Portis; her nieces, Monique Lavender and Ursula Highsmith.
A Memorial service will be held at 1pm Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 340 Rev. S. Howard Woodson Jr Way, Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hour will be 12pm until time of service. Interment will be private.
