Roy Stewart, son of the late RJ Stewart and Nelliose Stewart-Heard, was born November 15, 1957 in Jacksonville FL. On Sunday, July 19, at the Virtua Hospital in Voorhees, NJ, he peacefully slipped away from us.
The second oldest of seven children he was predeceased by two brothers; Larry Stewart and Byron Heard. Educated in the Trenton Public School system. As a young man growing up he was a mama's boy, and he loved his mama but "don't" mess with his sisters! His favorite pastime was hanging out in the garden, watching wrestling and Family Feud. He was loving and kind. God must have needed another helper, so he took ours.
Roy was always ready and willing to help out where ever help was needed. He always accomplished his ( task with a quiet pleasant spirit. After high school Roy worked for the State of New Jersey, Department of Corrections, and Maintenance Department for over twenty years. He was later employed by the Trenton Times, where he spent many years as a fork lift driver.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife and high school sweetheart, Sheila Stewart, two daughters; Janae ( Stewart and Sharnell Stewart, all of Trenton NJ. His grandson whom he adored, Zyaire Stewart. His loving mother, Nelliose Heard. One brother, Kenneth Stewart, and three sisters, Joann Mimes, (Isaac) Sandra Ware, (David) and Calandria B. Heard.
During his illness he never complained. God gave him two angels that took care of him. His two brother-in laws, David Ware and Isaac Mimes. They both were there for him every step of the way and until the very end. Thank God for angels! A great host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and some special friends, Melvin James, Rick Littles and Norman Bowens.
Sleep on Roy, take your rest, we all love you, but God loves you best!
