Ruby H. Hall Obituary

Ruby Helen (Keenan) Hall, was born on April 1, 1942, in Raiford, Florida. Her parents were the late Genevieve (Griffin) Butler and stepfather Freddie Butler. In addition to her parents Ruby received tender loving care by her grandparents the late Emmitt and Lillie Barnwell Alexander. On May 6, 2023, surrounded by her family, she made her transition from her earthly life to her eternal life.

After graduating from Dunbar High School in Green Cove Springs in 1958, Ruby moved to Trenton, New Jersey to pursue a career in nursing. Ruby worked as a nurse at Capitol Health Regional Hospital in Trenton, NJ for over 40 years. She was blessed to retire and enjoy the fruits of of her labor.

Ruby was married to the late Robert Samuel Hall on September 10, 1960, and to this union two children were born Robert Steven Hall and Robin Maria Hall. Ruby was a very active person and she did not sit still. She was always on the go and she loved helping others. Ruby was the life of the party and she was very proud of her family and friends. Ruby always made sure that loved ones had what they needed. When Ruby was in your presence she always made sure that you were in line. She always demanded the best for all of those around her.

Ruby accepted the Lord as her savior at a young age. She later joined St. Paul A.M.E. Zion Church Ewing, NJ under the leadership of Rev. Ossia R. Lyons. She later moved her membership to El-Bethel Baptist Church Trenton, NJ, under the founder and leadership of Rev. John A. Gaines, and after his retirement, she ultimately moved her membership to Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Trenton, NJ under the leadership of Revered Timothy L. Jordan, where she served faithfully until her health declined. Ruby, was a member of several Ministries at Calvary Baptist Church Trenton, NJ. The Pastor’s Aide Ministry, The Missionary Ministry, and Helping Hands Ministry. She also was active in the Golden Community Ministry at Friendship Baptist Church. Ruby found her greatest pleasure in life by helping and serving others.

In addition to her parents, grandparents and sister Jenny Lee Butler she was proceeded in death by her husband Robert Samuel Hall daughter Robin Maria Hall and son Robert Steven Hall.

She leaves to cherish her memories, Sisters; Betty Barlow and Cora Whigham , Sisters in Law; Shirley Billups and Otelia Hall, Brothers; Freddie J. Butler, Karl A. Butler, James A. Butler, Bruce (Constance) Butler Sr. and Larry (Stacey) Butler . Aunt; Earlene Alexander, Special cousins; John Foster, Juanita Brown and Rev. Lillie Mae Heman-Ackah Special Friends; Deacon Wilbert Cousins, Deaconess Daisy Cousins, Deacon Marion Watkins, Deaconess Yvonne Miller-Watkins, Laverne McRae, Mary Toliver, Jewell L. Hand, Janice Spear and Felicia Golden , God Children; Angel McRae, DeWanda (Mark) Kelley, De Quincy (Shinette) McRae and Kourtney Spear, and a host of 1st ,2nd ,3rd and 4th generations of cousins, nieces and nephews and other caring relatives and sorrowing friends.

Mathew 11:28-30 - "Come to me all who are labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. "

The family would like to extend a special to Mrs. Karina Checo De Torres and the staff at Carnegie Assisted Living at Princeton.

 

 

Funeral service will be 11am Monday, May 15, 2023 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 735 E. State St., Trenton, NJ 08609. Calling hour will be 10am until the time of service. Interment will be private.  Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
