Sally Fleming-Wilson Obituary

Sally Fleming Wilson, 79, of Trenton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska on August 18, 1945, she dedicated her life to the service and care of others, and will be remembered as a pillar of compassion, strength, and quiet resilience.

Sally was the daughter of Joe Nevels and Lucille Nettles, and was one of several siblings, including her sisters Rose Whitcomb Dangerfield and Genie Nevels. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Nebraska in 1963, where she was a proud member of both the Girls' Glee Club and the swim team.

Over the years, Sally built a meaningful career. She worked for McGraw-Hill and later for Capitol Health (Mercer Hospital), before retiring to dedicate herself fully to fostering children. Through her time as a foster parent, she lovingly cared for and raised over 100 children, each of whom she treated as her own. Her generosity extended far beyond her family - Sally's heart and home were always open to those in need.

Sally was a devoted member of Allentown First Baptist Church in Allentown, New Jersey, where she was baptized as a Christian. Her faith was an essential part of her life, guiding her compassion, her strength, and her unwavering devotion to others.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daryl Wilson and Her Late Brother Earl Nevels. She also shared a deep bond with a very special friend more like a sister, Gloria Leonard, who is like family in every way.

Sally is survived by her sons William Henderson, Marcus Henderson, Lionel Nevels, Dayshawn Wilson, and Tayshawn Wilson; and daughters Kristina Davis (Brian), Ciera Nevels, Brittany Nevels, and Sadiqua Nevels. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Destiny Henderson, Brian Davis Jr., Kamren Nevels, Caleb Nevels, Za'Nyah Davis and Kylah Nevels. She was also blessed with great grandchildren Zaiden Gonzalez, Azie Gonzalez, and Kailani Davis - each of whom brought her endless joy.

Simple in her ways, profound in her love - Sally lived to take care of others. Even in her final days, her thoughts remained fixed on the well-being of her children and family. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts she touched.
